Job Purpose
The Chemical Cleaning & Lab Specialist reports directly to the Chemical Cleaning & Lab Supervisor and is responsible for carrying out chemical and mechanical cleaning processes in accordance with the applicable manuals and employer policies and procedures. The role ensures that products are prepared for inspection without delays or rework in the process flow.
The specialist also supports the training of new CLN personnel when required and ensures quality maintenance, product safety, and security throughout all cleaning processes to deliver the highest quality product to the customer.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day departmental tasks including production cart receiving inspection, inventory processing, segregation process, and ensuring engine parts safety during movement.
- Verify the instructed process in the Work Order (WO) against the applicable manual and move parts into the required process flow.
- Supervise helper performance and ensure tasks are carried out according to required standards.
- Handle time charging and parts disposition through the ERP system accurately and on time.
- Carry out visual inspection of parts to confirm readiness before inspection and to control quality escapes.
- Conduct chemical receiving inspections in accordance with employer policies and procedures.
- Perform chemical analysis processes to ensure process performance and compliance.
- Support mechanical cleaning activities as required.
Requirements
- Diploma, technical/vocational qualification, or university degree in Industrial, Chemical, Laboratory, or equivalent field.
- Normal 20/20 vision or correctable vision.
- Relevant experience in the same industry will be considered an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Clear understanding of relevant technical skills and procedures.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.
- Computer proficiency, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong technical aptitude with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in close proximity with others in a cooperative and professional manner.
