Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager

Position Details

Position: HSE Manager

Reporting to: Corporate HSE Manager

Objective

To minimize health and safety risk by implementing a safety culture-centered approach. Visible and demonstrated leadership is vital to managing the construction health and safety program, and this position will serve as the lead focal point for all health and safety matters on the project.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Provides professional oversight, technical guidance, training and support to executive management.
  2. Implements HSE goals, objectives and KPI metrics for tracking and reporting on safety performance issues such as accidents, “near misses,” and lost time events.
  3. Receives assignments in terms of broad objectives from the HSE Head.
  4. Reviews and comments on the HSE policies and submissions including method statements and work execution plans.
  5. Develops and enforces policies, procedures, programs, standards, and design criteria affecting construction safety of multiple construction projects.
  6. Leads and ensures strict conformance to TRSDC Incident Reporting & Investigation procedure.
  7. Prepares and presents written and oral reports to executive management and the Head of Health & Safety.
  8. Prepares and distributes a monthly HSE dashboard with KPIs for the overall program.
  9. Provide leadership and support for the HSE officer.

General Job Specification

Qualification

A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.

Experience

10 – 15 years’ experience in the construction field.

Certification / Diploma (Preferred)

  • Shall hold a degree to include a professional health and safety diploma or its equivalent to an internationally recognized standard, with a minimum of 10-15 years of construction health and safety experience on projects of similar size and scope with at least three (3) years delivering at the level of Health and Safety Manager.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (NVQ5/BSC Diploma) is a must.
  • Preferred CSP/CMIOSH/CRSP or equivalent.
  • Preferred – candidate has worked on Red Sea Global projects.
