Position: QA/QC MEP Engineer

Reporting to: QA/QC Manager

Job Summary

The QA/QC MEP Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works are executed in compliance with project specifications, codes, and quality standards. This role involves implementing quality control procedures, conducting inspections and tests, reviewing material submittals, and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and project teams to maintain high levels of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor MEP works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct inspections, witness testing, and verify installation works for MEP systems.
  • Review and approve material submittals, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and work procedures.
  • Ensure MEP works comply with project quality plans, codes, and international standards.
  • Maintain proper records of inspections, testing, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical and quality issues.
  • Ensure calibration and certification of MEP testing and commissioning equipment.
  • Participate in quality audits, inspections, and commissioning of MEP systems.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ performance and ensure adherence to quality and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to site teams regarding quality standards and MEP installations.
  • Prepare regular reports on quality performance and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure compliance with HSE regulations.

General Job Specification

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline).

Experience

5–7 years of proven experience in QA/QC for MEP works in construction projects, preferably in large-scale or infrastructure projects.

Skills & Competency Level Required

Skill / Competency Mandatory Preferred
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and quality management software/tools.
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Effective leadership and decision-making abilities.
